Workbench overview

Workbench is Lightning IT's standardized engineering, development, and validation platform for reproducible automation, Linux, container, and integration testing, for internal use and customer environments. Its conceptual verb is Develop & Validate.

Workbench is one of the five sellable products. ModuLix is the reusable engineering and automation content foundation, not a sixth product.

Approved public outcomes

Workbench provides:

• reproducible development and test conditions;
• development, integration, and validation of changes;
• risk-based testing of automation, Linux, container, and integration scenarios;
• traceable test artifacts and acceptance evidence; and
• a bounded platform model for internal or customer use.

These statements do not promise a particular technology, version, integration, repository structure, delivery package, compatibility level, service level, or commercial term.

Provenance and lifecycle

This document is bounded by the canonical product authority, LIT-PRD-80-Workbench version 13. That authority approves the https://docs.l-it.io/workbench/ route family and the initial https://docs.l-it.io/workbench/overview/ route. Review is required annually and after any material scope, claim, taxonomy, delivery-boundary, or route change.
