Validation model

Workbench validation is evidence for a defined change, environment, input, procedure, and expected result. A successful test does not establish universal compatibility, future performance, security, or acceptance outside that scope.

A reproducible validation record identifies:

  1. the change and source revision;
  2. the controlled test scope and prerequisites;
  3. the environment and relevant configuration;
  4. the procedure and expected results;
  5. the observed results and retained artifacts;
  6. findings, deviations, and limitations; and
  7. the authorized reviewer and decision.

Testing may be risk-based and use multiple stages, but no stage name or tool implies a product-wide technology commitment. Missing or protected evidence must be recorded as a gap or retained in an authorized private system.
